Happiness is the door - Choice Theory is the key

My journey to Choice Theory spanned two countries. I had been teaching in New Zealand in the 60s when someone mentioned a book by the title of Schools Without Failure. I was teaching young people in a high school who had difficulties learning and this title was like music to my ears. I really believed that this is how I wanted schools to be.
I next heard about the author of this book, William Glasser, when I was teaching on the Gold Coast in Australia. I was in the fortunate position of being offered the opportunity to be part of a state wide team and facilitate workshops using Choice Theory as a basis from this and other books by William Glasser.
I received wonderful training and met many teachers, deputy principals and principals, not to mention the chidren and parents. In more than 13 years with the Excellence in Teaching (ET) program, I was in over 1000 classrooms teaching teachers to be collegial coaches. Such a privilege.
Being on the William Glasser Institute-Australia Board, president of William Glasser Institute New Zealand and Board member of William Glasser International gave me further opportunities to be with people of like minds and continue learning about these powerful ideas.
Please join me on the journey as I share about Choice Theory and how the doors were opened for me.
